What is a narrated eBook and how does it work?
Some eBooks in your library's digital collection may be labeled "narrated." This means that the OverDrive Read format for those eBooks has professionally recorded narration that plays along while you read.
Narrated eBooks have slightly different browser requirements than other OverDrive Read eBooks. Learn which browsers are compatible with narration here.
How narrated eBooks work:
After you borrow a narrated eBook, select Read to open the eBook in your browser using OverDrive Read. Then, select Start narration on any page of the eBook to begin the audio. The narrator will start reading from the top left.
Many narrated eBooks will highlight words, sentences, or paragraphs as the narrator reads them, so readers can follow along. Pages will automatically turn when the narrator reaches the end of the page. |
